Make more of every rand allocated to travel.
For an NPO, travel often supports programme delivery, governance, conferences, training, fundraising and stakeholder work. The objective is not simply to move people from one place to another; it is to do so responsibly, transparently and with as much of the available funding preserved for the organisation’s mission as possible.
Managed travel for NPO realities
- Individual, group, conference and programme travel requirements.
- Domestic and international air travel, accommodation and vehicle hire.
- Clear quotations and written approvals before ticketing or supplier commitment.
- Cost-aware fulfilment that compares genuinely bookable like-for-like options.
- Coordination of changes, cancellations and refunds when plans change.
- Consolidated schedules where travel is fulfilled through more than one airline or provider.
- Reporting and evidence that can support internal governance and donor-funded programme controls.
Partner-supported and concessionary travel
HerTho may, where an appropriate programme or partner arrangement is available, assist an eligible organisation to pursue concessionary or partner-supported travel. These opportunities are not automatic and are always subject to the relevant provider’s eligibility rules, route availability, booking windows, supporting documentation and final approval.
Where a concession applies to only part of a journey, HerTho can preserve that benefit and source only the uncovered sector separately where practicable. This avoids discarding a confirmed benefit simply because the entire itinerary cannot be fulfilled through one channel.
HerTho may, where appropriate programmes or partner arrangements are available, assist eligible NPOs to pursue concessionary or partner-supported travel. Benefits remain subject to provider eligibility, availability and final approval.
Conference and group travel
For larger delegate movements, HerTho can consolidate traveller requirements, manage approval status, coordinate multiple routes and providers, and maintain a client-facing schedule showing the status of material travel components. This is particularly useful where a group includes travellers from several cities or where some sectors receive different supplier support.
Tell us what the travel is for, who needs to travel, the routes and timing, and whether you are looking for normal managed fulfilment, a group solution or assessment of an available partner-supported option.
